DETROIT/LA— Detroit's own Chef Craig Lieckfelt (who just won Eater's Chef of the Year award by the way) is leaving the city, but only for a little while, to promote himself in Los Angeles, California. So far, he's getting good press, and he'll be hosting several Guns + Butter dinners in Hollywood this month, but don't worry, he'll be back in the D soon. [Deadline Detroit]

EASTERN MARKET— There's always the possibility of Thanksgiving shopping at the local supermarket, but where's the fun in that? Detroit's Eastern Market is taking things up a notch with a special Tuesday market on November 26th from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., where shoppers can buy it all locally from meat to pies, and from random specialty goods to whatever locally grown seasonal vegetables are still around.
