Meet A Bartender

New, 1 comment

Welcome to Cocktail Week 2013's Meet A Bartender feature, where we get to know just a little bit about the stellar people who mix our drinks, toast to our good news, offer friendly advice, and sometimes dry our tears (with a good stiff drink).

First up, meet Kaytee Querro, who describes herself as "33% of the bartenders at The Oakland in Ferndale. I've been bartending there for a year and a half. In my spare time I read, bake bread and do various other-worldly old lady hobbies."

Kaytee's favorite drink to make on the job? "My favorite drink to make at work is the Old Flame. It's a great tasting cocktail with a flaming chartreuse ribboned into it. Anything with fire is always a crowd pleaser!"

Her favorite drink to make for herself? "I like to make myself the Last Word. It's a Detroit classic and a perfect cocktail. It's refreshing and botanical. I'm a sucker for anything Chartreuse."

Check back later this week for Kaytee's expert advice on underrated and under-appreciated bars in and around the city.
