It may only be Monday, but sometimes happy hour just can't wait until the end of the week. Now that spring is cautiously approaching, a slowly savored wine on the patio might just have the advantage over that hearty craft brew. A good wine deal can open the door to trying new varietals or sticking with old favorites at any price point. So no matter when the mood strikes, check out these daily wine specials.
Monday:
End the first day of the workweek by bee lining to Mudgie's Deli in Corktown. They're featuring $5 off bottles and $1 off glasses of wine from 4-7pm to be enjoyed perhaps with one of their artisan appetizers such as a charcuterie platter or freshly baked pretzel rolls. [Photo]

Tuesday:
Coach Insignia at the top of the GM Renaissance Center has one of the City's largest wine lists and was awarded Wine Spectator's "Best of" Award of Excellence in 2013. In addition to the regular 5-7pm Monday-Friday $6 featured wine happy hour in the lounge, Tuesdays it's half off Michigan beer and wine. And the happy hour food menu includes more than just appetizers: there are enough burgers, pulled pork sliders and snacks to make up a whole dinner. [Photo]

Wednesday:
It was difficult to pick just one Wednesday wine deal, since the "w" alliteration makes it an appealing day to "wine down," however the most unique special is at Fountain Bistro at Campus Martius Park. This French themed restaurant not only offers regular Monday-Friday 4-7pm happy hour specials (menu items include oysters, cheese plates and sliders), but each Wednesday is also Wine Flight Wednesday from 6-11pm, which currently features 3 wine tastings paired with a light appetizer or cheese for under $20. Also, be on the look out for their Somm Slam Wine Dinners (the next one is on April 28) where two sommeliers pair wine with four courses and diners vote on their favorite pairings. [Photo]

Wednesday runners up include Union Street, whose whole menu dedicated to champagne and flavored brandy bellinis is intriguing and who offers half off bottles of wine on Wednesdays, and Tallulah Wine Bar and Bistro in Birmingham, who also gives a 50% discount on selected bottles on Wednesdays (although some restrictions, such as ordering two entrees, apply).
Thursday:
Vinotecca in Royal Oak features a daily happy hour from 4-6pm with additional hours from 9pm until close on Thursdays, with 50% off wines by the glass and 20% off bottles as well as small plate specials. [Photo]

Friday:
Time to dress up and hit the town. The Rattlesnake Club with its riverfront views has $5 sommelier (they have their own sommelier!) selected wines to enjoy in the lounge or on the garden terrace from 4-7pm. Soak in the luxurious atmosphere while sipping on non-luxury-priced wine. [Photo]

Saturday:
Looking for a bit of sun for weekend brunch? Lily's Seafood Grill & Brewery in Royal Oak boasts a sunny sidewalk patio on which to enjoy $3 mimosas (lots to love about a good glass of morning champagne with OJ) or their Saturday "happy 'half day'" featuring $4 house wine from 11am-6pm. Even though they're beer masters with their own brewery, Lily's is an equal opportunity purveyor of adult beverages: get a lifetime membership to their wine club for $75 and receive a free bottle of wine, monthly wine tastings with complimentary appetizers, 10% off of the bill on Wednesdays and discounts on a slew of other fun annual activities. Sunday:
"Sunday Funday" doesn't only have to be about beer. Football season's over so get up off the couch and put down that brewskie. Instead, head over to MotorCity Wine Bar and Shop in Corktown for "Sundaylicious" from 5-10pm. Pick up a bottle in their shop, and for an $8 corkage fee, drink it on site while listenting to the Jazz Vinyl Club's DJ and munch on treats from that week's guest pop up restaurant or food truck.
