As suddenly as it opened, the First National Grille near Campus Martius has shuttered. The restaurant moved into the First National Building rather abruptly last May, replacing Zef's Coney Island. Although it occupied an appealing piece of downtown real estate, First National Grille always seemed like a temporary space holder serving somewhat unremarkable diner food. Naturally, customers turned to Yelp to voice their complaints. The restaurant space currently sports window decals that tease a "New Restaurant Coming Soon." Eater has reached out to Bedrock Real Estate Services for more details on the new tenant. Stay tuned.
