DOWNTOWN — Tonight beginning at 6 p.m. check out the Downtown Charity Crawl, hosted by The Whisky Parlor, Grand Trunk Pub, and Checker Bar. The event supporting the Save the Children Foundation, features food, drink, raffles, and a silent auction.
Kick-off the evening with drinks, hor d'oeuvres, and live jazz at The Whiskey Parlor where Eater Detroit cocktail contributor Nick Britsky has created Donald Trump-inspired drink special called The Hair Piece. Based on a Seelbach cocktail, it's made with bourbon, cointreau, Peychaud's bitters, angostura bitters, and champagne (Trump Winery Sparkling Brut in this case), and lemon garnish; however, Britsky's Trump twist uses less cointreau and a cotton candy "hair piece" that can be dissolved in the cocktail for added sweetness. Quantities of the cocktail are very limited so get there early. [EaterWire]
CORKTOWN — Mabel Gray's esteemed sommelier Rachel Van Til is guest curating Michigan wines at the Mudgie's Deli bar from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 18. [Facebook]
